Gospel and Christian Family

The Gospel and the Christian Family

Introduction

Look around you.  Who are these people?  How are they like you?  How are they different?  Are those differences and likenesses part of a plan?  These, and so much more, will be examined in this course.

Theological Presentation

Psalm 45

Song of Songs 8:3-4

Ephesians 5:22-33

1 Timothy 2:8-15

Titus 2:1-14

1 Peter 3:1-7

Activity

1. What is your name and what was the reason you got that name?

2. What is your favorite food, color, car, and place?  Why (each)?

3. How are you like your father?  How are you like your mother?

4. How well do you think you understand, and relate to, members of the opposite sex?

5. How well do you think you understand, and relate to, members of your immediate family?

6. What do you expect to learn about the family?

Impressions: Evaluate the following

1. Men and women are essentially and functionally the same.

2. The differences between men and women are a result of cultural evolution.  They are mostly the result of centuries of male domination and should be corrected.

3. If a woman were President, we would risk war every time she had PMS.

4. Opposites attract.

5. If given the choice between respect and love, men want respect and women want
love.

Discussion Questions

1. In what ways do you think your being male/female defines you?

2. What do you like about members of the opposite sex?

3. What frustrates you about members of the opposite sex?

4. What do you wish members of the opposite sex knew about you as male/female?
