Impressions

Why are male and female different?
There are those who believe that we are completely the product of our environment.  All differences come from the environmental need for various types.  The traits of male and female are conditions that grew out of expressed needs or the manipulation of circumstances.  For instance, some believe that women’s inclination toward nurture and care came out of the environmental need, while others believe that men manipulated women into nurture roles by force or intimidation. Others believe that the differences between men and women are a product of nature and an expression of natural law.  They hold that the general differences that exist are by birth, ingrained into us

Purpose/Accident
One side of this issue is that the differences between men and women are the purposeful act of God.  This is the teaching that these differences are intended and ought to be understood and promoted.
The other side of this debate is that the differences between men and women are accidental.  The differences between men and women are products of a series of evolutionary accidents, a part of our nature either to be embraced or overcome depending on your personal world view.
